New Series 9000 Dewatering Screen Part of Complete Solution
KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens has developed a new S9000 Dewatering Screen to add to its Series 9000 family of products.
The new S9000 Dewatering Screen is designed to reduce moisture content of washed sand and, ultimately, offer a more complete system, according to Jeff Wendte, product manager of the washing and classifying product line for KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens.
The S9000 Dewatering Screen is capable of reducing moisture content of washed sand down to as low as 8-15 percent. It is available in multiple sizes, ranging from 2’ x 7’ up to 8’ x 16’. The screen’s ¼”-stroke operates at 1200 RPM, providing high “G” force action to separate water from the material. It is equipped with urethane media, has an adjustable incline from 0-5 degrees, and can be packaged in portable, semi-portable and stationary systems.
Unlike some manufacturers, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens focuses on building customized washing systems that are designed to deliver the highest net return on aggregate for the producer, according to Wendte.
“The highest net return for the producer is achieved by sending out a team of our highly-qualified engineers directly to the producer’s operation,” he said. “These application specialists analyze and collect aggregate samples to test in KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens’ in-house Material Research Laboratory. Based on data collected and the flow analysis, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens is then able to design a complete system that is unique to a producer’s application.”
In addition to the S9000 Dewatering Screen, the Series 9000 family of products includes classifying cyclones, dewatering cyclones, pumps, attrition cells, density classifiers and sieve bend screens. The Series 9000 product line offers opportunities to penetrate new markets, including frac sand, glass sand, foundry sand and golf course sand. The new product line provides solutions for unique aggregate processing issues, such as the removal of deleterious materials from the aggregate products or the removal of excess fines from the waste water effluent stream.
