Machine Control System for Concrete Slipform Paving Applications
Leica Geosystems Announces PaveSmart 3D (LMGS-S) v7.0

Leica Geosystems new version of PaveSmart 3D (LMGS-S) machine control for concrete paving applications now supports Guntert & Zimmerman (G&Z) S600, S850 and S1500 mainline concrete pavers. (3D machine control solutions are also available for G&Z’s PS1200 placer spreader.) Leica Geosystems unveiled the LMGS-S v7.0 at ConExpo 2011.
Designed specifically for concrete paving applications, LMGS-S’s unique features and capabilities allow slipform paving contractors to reap the significant productivity and precision benefits of 3D paving technology from the outset. Building on Leica’s unmatched worldwide experience in delivering 3D machine control solutions for mainline concrete paving applications to the highway, aviation, rail and tunnel paving segments since 1999, Leica Geosystems has worked with the engineering team at G&Z to provide a “plug-and-pave” interface to G&Z pavers.
G&Z microcontrollers’ new “Direct Connect” CAN-Bus interface provides seamless integration of Leica Geosystems machine control – an easy-to-use, high-performance, robust and safety-focused solution, allowing paving contractors to completely remove the cost, effort and logistical problems associated with traditional stringline setting for slipform paving applications, whilst maintaining and enhancing the optimal concrete surface smoothness demanded by today’s infrastructure developers.
LMGS-S v7.0 is available through Leica Geosystems’ worldwide construction machine control sales and support network.
