Modular railroad track scales for static weighing

Modular railroad track scales for static weighing

A line of pitless, high-capacity modular railroad track scales that are less expensive to build and install than conventional pit-style railway scales has been introduced by Alliance Scale.

Alliance/Rice Lake Survivor PL Railroad Track Scale is available as low-profile, pitless modules in 12-foot 6-inch, 15-foot and 18-foot lengths with 7-foot 8-inch and 18-foot 5-inch platforms for weighing loads up to 170 tons, depending upon construction. Featuring wide flange, I-beam construction, heavy weighbridges and high span deflection ratios, these modular scales cost much less than typical pit-style railroad track scales which require a foundation, claims the firm.

Suitable for weighing carloads of rock at construction sites, coal at mines, and various railcar loads at loading docks, the scales have been designed to the demanding AAR, AREMA, and Cooper E-80 standards, are legal-for-trade, and NTEP approved. Custom designs and platforms are available to meet customer requirements.
