Latest development in reduced tail swing

The R924Compact represents the latest development in the continuing evolution of reduced tail swing hydraulic excavators from Liebherr. The machine combines the excellent performance characteristics of a standard excavator with smaller dimensions from a reduced tail swing – just three inches of tail swing over the side when using 30-inch pads. The attachment geometry, specifically designed for the R924 Compact, positions the boom pivot point behind the operator – resulting in a total clearance circle of less than six feet, three inches, increasing jobsite safety.

The machine features a full-sized operator’s cab, with air conditioning as standard equipment. Intelligently arranged controls and display, air suspended operators seat, oversized windows and unobstructed view to the work area allow the operator to work comfortably throughout the day. The Liebherr Positive Control hydraulic system optimizes energy utilization by adapting flow rates to the current system requirements, resulting in increased speed, sensitivity of controls for the operator, and the ability to perform simultaneous travel and lifting duties with minimal loss of flow or pressure to any function. When equipped with the LIKUFIX hydraulic quick coupler, the operator can make the hydraulic connections from tool to machine without ever leaving the comfort of the cab.
