Shantui now largest dozer producer in the world

Shantui, a multinational construction equipment manufacturer based in Shandong, China says that it is now the world’s largest maker of bulldozers, and all under its own brand name. Long the dominant dozer brand in China, its aggressive expansion and strong demand internationally have led to its leading position.

In 2010, Shantui produced two out of every five crawler-type dozers in the world, more than 10,000 units. Global production for the same year was 24,600. Its nearest rival, Caterpillar, produced 6,400 units. Off-Highway Research, a leading independent construction equipment industry consultancy, compiled the statistics.
