Secondary breaking of oversize materials

The MRH pedestal-mounted, hydraulic breaker system is designed to provide secondary breaking of oversize materials at grizzlies and crushers in the quarrying industry. The MRH uses the same pedestal as the TM-series rockbreaker, so it can be interchanged easily and field replacement is easier.

The 1.5-inch thick base plate is stronger, allowing for more robust mounting to structures. The pedestal is designed with a bent plate, rather than a welded tube design, which reduces stress while improving strength and flexibility. The pedestal mount includes two nylon pucks at each mounting hole to better absorb vibration while reducing compression set. This change helps bolts maintain torque. Larger radii on pedestal ears cuts stress and increases strength.

The MRH now features a tilt and lift valve stand, which provides easy accessibility to swing cylinders and eases hose maintenance. The swing post weldment has a wide opening to accept the inner boom, reducing swing torque pressure to the pin and making the unit better able to transmit torque to the boom pin. Booms are all plate construction, using 60,000-psi tensile steel and wider cross sections; the design is intended to provide superior strength and adsorption of impact side loading from crusher feedback. It also offers better manipulation of material on the grizzly. Reinforcing plates are used to stiffen joints, preventing side loads from distorting them and adding to boom service life. Hardened alloy steel bushings at main pivot joints lead to a longer service life. Large diameter, hardened, alloy steel pins at pivot joints reduce bearing pressures and also improve service life.
