Environmentally-sound durable bridges and walkways made from 100-percent recycled materials

Axion recently announced that the company has established a division to specifically market its environmentally-sound and ultra-durable vehicular and pedestrian bridges and walkways to the golf industry. This product is made from 100-percent recycled materials, and is ideal for golf courses being built, renovated and regularly maintained.

According to the company, these bridges and walkways feature superior performance compared to wood, steel and concrete structures, and will help designers and builders satisfy the strict environmental guidelines of planning and zoning authorities, as well as homeowners’ associations.

In addition to Axion bridges being used for traversing golf-course water features, environmentally-sensitive areas and rough terrain, this green technology is ideal for use in creating attractive landscaping materials for bulk-heading and framing walkways, cart paths, tee boxes and steps.

These bridges are engineered to last more than 50 years with minimal wear and tear, and are not susceptible to rotting, insect and fungus infestation, corrosion, leaching, cracking, rust or overall deterioration.

Axion bridges also feature a textured surface that doesn’t absorb water, is designed to withstand severe weather and flooding, and can be customized for extreme traffic and weight (including golf carts, maintenance and construction vehicles).

Décor includes classic and contemporary models with various surface, railing and bumper colours, textures and shapes, and the product is specifically designed to blend with landscapes. It also features minimal colour fading as well as an absence of toxins. Installation is quick and hassle-free, and units are very low maintenance, requiring no painting, staining or patching. “There’s a proliferation of golf courses employing ‘green’ practices, and our company is the only provider of Axion 100-percent recycled materials for bridges,” says James Kerstein, CEO of Axion International. “Moreover, the sustainability, engineering, affordability and style of Axion bridges are a natural fit for courses, while the status quo of traditional materials is old news.”
