Makita’s 8-1/4-inch Magnesium Circular Saw (model 5008MGA) features durable magnesium components and a 15-amp Makita-built industrial motor, powerful enough to cut through dense lumber. Magnesium components allowed Makita to develop a more rigid platform while keeping the weight to a reduced 10.6 pounds. Makita also engineered ergonomics and ease-of-use into the saw, including clearly visible depth and bevel markings and rubber moldings for a comfortable grip that resists slips. The large rubberized levers provide quick, one-handed adjustments for more efficient work. The saw has a large cutting capacity of three inches at 90 degrees, with a maximum bevel capacity of 50 degrees, and positive stops at 45 and 22.5 degrees for quick back-and-forth changes.
