Designed for third-member use on machines in the 45,000-pound class and larger, the Genesis Demolition Recycler (GDR) delivers 115 tons of crushing force at the tip, a 32-inch jaw depth, a jaw opening of 35 inches, and a quick 5.1 second cycle time (at 66gpm). Genesis officials say this is the largest jaw they’ve ever offered on a tool that mounts on a 20-ton class machine, and emphasize that the GDR delivers all its power without the use of an intensifier.
Perhaps the most valuable feature of the GDR, however, is its ability to be custom-configured according to the end-user’s specific needs, says Dan Raihala, Genesis’ design engineer. “This tool can be custom-configured to meet customers’ needs: from as few as five pulverizing teeth and 16-inch blades, to as many as 19 pulverizing teeth and a four-inch cutting blade,” says Raihala. “With this versatility, we feel the GDR can excel at high-reach demolition projects, crushing concrete, then cutting any pipe, rebar or medium-gauge steel encountered. With a tooth-heavy configuration, however, it can be equally effective downsizing oversized debris in a concrete recycling application.”
