The Kawasaki Mule 4010 has a full-size chassis and a liquid-cooled 617 cubic-centimetre V-twin engine, equipped with digital fuel injection. The new drivetrain has a selectable four-wheel drive fully-automatic transmission featuring high, low, reverse and four-wheel drive ranges. Steering is made easier with a new electric power steering system. The bodywork styling continues to be the durable, colour-molded plastic that helps hide scuffing. The cab on the Mule is surrounded by the large-diameter steel tube frame structure. A ladder-type frame chassis, includes Dion type rear leaf-spring suspension with MacPherson struts for front suspension. Braking is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water and mud. Total carrying capacity is 800 pounds and towing capacity is 1,200 pounds.
