The Snorkel AB46 articulated self propelled boom is offered as an electric 2WD or diesel-powered 4WD for rough terrain work. It has a working height of up to 52 feet, nine inches (16.1 m) and 24 feet, seven inches (7.5 m) outreach, with a five foot (1.52 m), 140-degree jib. Maneuverability is key, with a multi-functioning boom operation thanks to two separate pumps. It has an exceptionally tight inside turning radius of one foot (0.6 m). Design improvements include: stronger jib welds for greater abuse tolerance; traditional pinion and swing bearing for swing drive replacing integral worm drive; Helac rotary platform actuator; continuous top rail platform, hard-wired with relay logic control system, fully proportional controls for all boom functions, and electric emergency lowering unit replacing previous hand pump lowering.
