Unique boom design allows deeper digging
Yanmar’s 17,706-pound B7-5A Mini Excavator, with its unique Sigma boom, is like having a boom with three elbows. This allows the operator to extend the boom over or under most jobsite obstacles to a maximum digging depth of 14 feet, three inches. It is not only a Zero Tail swing unit, but also has no overhang on the front swing, with the Sigma boom enabling the operator to turn 360 degrees within the machine’s width.

The Sigma boom is manufactured from high tensile strength steel, which is approximately 1.5 times stronger than conventional steel. The lower weight provides an optimum centre of gravity, producing a stable, better-balanced machine. A total track width of seven feet, five inches produces this stability.

ViO crawler technology by Advanced Stability (VICTAS) delivers an expanded track gauge for greater stability without increasing undercarriage width. The VIPPS (ViO progressive three-pump system) increases power and speed along with improved fuel economy for this machine. It also allows simultaneous multi-function operation to increase job productivity. A spacious control centre is designed to provide maximum operator comfort and safety. All controls fall easily to hand yet are positioned precisely for effortless operator entry and exit. Power comes from Yanmar’s 58.2-hp TNV series C&S (Clean and Silent) diesel engine, which is compliant with noise and emission regulations. Intelligently designed engine access makes normal maintenance fast and easy.
