Dodge Ram offers improved fuel economy, horsepower and torque
The 2009 Dodge Ram powertrain lineup offers improved fuel economy, and more power, torque and refinement than ever before. Engines available in these new models include the 390-hp 5.7-litre HEMI, flex-fuel 4.7-litre and 3.7-litre gasoline engines. The 2009 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty models (with current 2008 design) are available with either the 5.7-litre HEMI or the 6.7-litre Cummins tur-bodiesel engine, which already achieves 2010 NOx emission standards. The 2009 Dodge Ram is offered in regular cab, Quad Cab and crew-size cab, with three box lengths: 8-foot (regular cab), 6-foot-4-inches (regular cab and Quad Cab), and a new-for-2009 box length of 5-foot-7-inches (crew cab). An improved frame design incorporating high-strength steel and supports an all-new, first-in-segment, multi-link coil spring rear suspension that improves ride and handling characteristics without sac-rificing payload (up to 1,850 pounds) and towing capability (up to 9,100 pounds).
