Gehl Company has added the all-new 2008 CTL55 compact track loader, and new, updated CTL 65/75/85 models to their compact track loader line-up. The CTL55, with its narrow 58-inch (1,473 mm) width, is suited for operation on even the most confined job sites. It offers exceptional power and heavy-duty components, coupled with a generous-size, ergonomic operator’s compartment.
The CTL55 is powered by a 51-horsepower (38 kW) Yanmar Tier III EPA-certi-fied turbocharged diesel engine. The engine features an emergency engine shutdown system, which helps protect it from damage due to high coolant temperatures and low oil pressure. The CTL55 also features a pilot-operated joystick control system that makes driving, lifting and tilting functions smooth and precise. Control handles include electro-hydraulic push button controls for boom float and detent for auxiliary hydraulics. A new foot throttle enhances versatility.
The hydraulic system provides exceptional power. The self-levelling hydraulic lift action keeps loads balanced when the lift arm is raised. SAHR (spring-applied, hydraulic release) wet multi-disc brakes provide quick braking action, holding the loader on any grade. Serviceability is a breeze on the new CTL55 compact track loader. The radiator and hydraulic oil cooler swing out for excellent access to the engine compartment. Simple grease-type track adjusters make track adjustments a snap. The tilt-back ROPS/FOPS structure quickly reveals internal components, making cleaning and maintenance procedures fast and easy when required.
The new models – CTL65, CTL75 and CTL85 – now all feature powerful Tier III EPA-certified engines with increased horsepower, and two models, CTL75 and CTL85, have turbocharged engines and offer high-flow hydraulic options. These machines can reach ground speeds up to 7.5 mph (12 km/h) in high speed. In addition, these models continue to feature the largest operator’s cab in the industry with optional pressurized cab enclosure and air-conditioning/heater system.
