Bobcat S70 skid-steer works well in tight job sites

Bobcat S70 skid-steer works well in tight job sites
The new Bobcat S70 is the smallest model in the company’s line of skid-steer loaders and is 73.92 inches high, 45.94 inches wide and 89.07 inches long without an attachment. These dimensions make it particularly useful for work in tight job sites, such as driving through narrow side-yards on a construction job.

The S70 has a rated operating capacity of 700 pounds and is powered by a 33.5-horsepower diesel engine that powers a fully hydrostatic, four-wheel drive system with a travel speed of 6.2 miles per hour. With an operating weight of 4,110 pounds, the S70 is also easy to transport.

The S70 provides the same performance as the 463 model which it replaces and also incorporates new features, including an updated engine mount, hydrostatic pump centering and belt drive system. The new engine mount reduces vibration in the machine for greater operator comfort. The new hydrostatic pump centering is based on a similar setup in Bobcat mini track loaders and uses a tension spring instead of a torsion spring. This new system reduces maintenance and increases uptime.

The new belt tensioner features more robust components and a simpler design that uses technology from larger Bobcat loaders. A micro, serpentine-style V belt is used in the new belt tensioner system. This belt is more durable and decreases maintenance time.

The indicator light for the Bobcat Integrated Control System (BICS) has been moved from the rear of the cab to the right-hand instrument panel. The BICS safety system does not allow the loader to start or continue running if the operator is not in the seat with the seat bar in a locked position.

The S70 includes the Bob-Tach attachment system and a 14-pin attachment control kit. There are 35 Bobcat attachments that can be used on the S70. The S70 has a transversely mounted engine and a tip-up cab for easier access when the machine needs to be serviced. The centre-mounted, maintenance-free chain-case allows the S70 to travel through deep mud and other areas more easily because of its keel-shaped belly pan. The axle housings are fixed and welded to the chaincase, eliminating maintenance related to tightening bolts or other chain adjustments.
