Yanmar CBL40 backhoe loader delivers more productivity
Yanmar’s advanced new CBL 40 compact backhoe loader has shown a significant advantage in productivity and reduced fuel costs according to tests conducted by the company. Yanmar did Earthwork Volume Comparison Tests against two other machines. For backhoe work, Yanmar’s CBL 40 performed 20 to 67 percent more work with 11 to 32 percent less fuel. For loader work, it did 27 to 41 percent more work with 6 to 32 percent less fuel consumption.

A heavy duty, single-frame chassis like those used on much larger units offers a durable structure to support heavy loading and backhoe assignments. Loader bucket breakout force rating is 4,850 pounds. A newly developed transmission offers the best of both worlds in the form of low fuel consumption and high performance. A Yanmar 3TNV84T diesel engine produces 37.2 horsepower and is capable of propelling this 7,750-pound machine to a forward speed of 13.7 mph and 7.8 mph in reverse. Features include a loader Quick Coupler to expedite attachment changes, mechanical parallel linkage for automatic bucket levelling, and a short nose, along with an adjustable seat, for excellent bucket visibility. Variable displacement axial piston hydraulic pumps allow for smooth, if not seamless, work operation. Most Category One 3-point hitch attachments can be utilized to accommodate a wide range of field work once the backhoe is removed on versions equipped with lift and PTO.
