Toyota Tundra
The 2008 Toyota Tundra is available with a choice of two V8 engines. Both engines feature dual overhead cams, 32 valves, a crank hold electronic starter control and sequential multiport electronic fuel injection. They come equipped with an engine oil cooler, a heavy duty battery, starter, heater and alternator, and a stainless steel exhaust system. Both engines qualify for a Tier 2 Bin 5 emissions rating.

The first engine is a 4.7-litre engine that produces up to 276 hp at 5,400 rpm and up to 313 lb-ft of torque at 3,400 rpm, and features Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). This is mated to a five-speed automatic, super electronically controlled transmission with sequential multi-mode shifter, overdrive, lock-up torque converter, transmission cooler, and automatic transmission fluid warmer. Tundra 4x2 models so fitted enjoy a fuel efficiency rating of 15.5 L/100 km city and 11.7 L/100 km highway, while Tundra 4x4 models with this engine/ transmission combination are rated at 16.0 L/100 km city and 12.3 L/100 km highway.

For maximum power, the Tundra may also be ordered with a 5.7-litre engine that generates up to 381 hp at 5,600 rpm and 401 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm, featuring Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) on both the intake and exhaust cams. This is mated to a six-speed automatic, super electronically controlled transmission with sequential multi-mode shifter, overdrive, lock-up torque converter, transmission cooler, and automatic transmission fluid warmer. Tundra 4x2 models with this engine/ transmission combination have a fuel efficiency of 15.3 L/100 km city and 10.9 L/100 km highway, while Tundra 4x4 models so fitted are rated at 16.9 L/100 km city and 11.8 L/100 km highway.

All Tundra models enjoy the smooth ride and stability of a double-wishbone front suspension with gas shock absorbers, coil springs and stabilizer bar.

Tundra 4x2 models also benefit from Traction Control, while Tundra 4x4 models are fitted with Active Traction Control, One-Touch 4WD, and protective plates to shield the engine and transfer case.

The 2008 Tundra provides a roomy, functional, flexible and safe interior for driver and passengers. Regular Cab models can carry up to three people. Up to five people may ride in a Tundra 4x2 Double Cab SR5 with the long cargo bed, the 4x4 Double Cab Limited Models, and the 4x2 and 4x4 Crewmax models. The 4x2 Double Cab with the standard cargo bed and all 4x4 Double Cab SR5 models may carry up to six people.
