Pocket Layout is a newly developed software solution designed to help contractors who need to manage their own layout tasks. “Pocket Layout is designed to provide the contractor with a construction site software system to seamlessly guide them through staking, topo, and grade control tasks,” said Murray Lodge, director of sales, construction at Topcon Positioning Systems. With Pocket Layout’s easy user interface, contractors can be self-sufficient in layout and basic measurement tasks. Users can input blueprint dimensions in the office, either manually or electronically, for use in the field later, and reestablishment of lost or moved stakes is easy. Pocket Layout is compatible with Topcon’s FC-200 series field controllers, and interfaces with the company’s total stations. Its simple COGO, layout, tape dimension, and reference line functions store and use multiple layouts, supporting robots and traditional total stations.
