The TyRex DCF5000 is part of the TyRex line of collated screw systems. Designed primarily for the commercial construction market, applications of the TyRex DCF5000 include drywall to wood, drywall to steel, sheathing, underlayment, cement board and fencing. These units include a patented retractable corner-fit nose, ideal for drywall and window installations, as well as a patented clutch design that eliminates bit wear and fastener overdriving by disengaging when a screw is sufficiently set. Other attributes of the TyRex power fastener are a one-hand bit release, drive-depth wheel and indicator, a reverse alert feature with a red indicator tag that signals when the tool is in reverse, and a variable speed trigger – from zero to 3,300 rpm and back – permitting feathering for improved control.
