Volvo Penta reveals its Stage V concept

Volvo Penta is revealing its Stage V concept at CONEXPO/CON-AGG in Las Vegas from March 7-11. As with previous emission steps, the Stage V line-up includes all five engines – D5, D8, D11, D13, and D16 – offering the same power range from 105 to 565 kW (143-770 hp) as Volvo Penta’s existing offer for industrial, off-road applications. A D11 engine and its perfectly matched exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) are on display to demonstrate the company’s Stage V platform. 

John Deere introduces inline aftertreatment solution

John Deere Power Systems debuted its newest Integrated Emissions Control system configuration at the 2017 CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show in Las Vegas. Configured with an inline aftertreatment device, the system is designed to offer greater packaging and integration flexibility to both internal John Deere and OEM customer applications.

MAN Engines increases its commitment to the Americas at IPFE

From wood waste to biomass fuel with Volvo Penta engines and ARJES machinery

When wood processor Larry Simpson was deciding how to move forward with his business, he opted for a new primary shredder to replace an old grinding machine. Strategic alliance planned between DEUTZ and Liebherr

DEUTZ AG and Liebherr Machines Bulle S.A. have agreed on the key aspects of a strategic alliance between the two companies. Under this arrangement, Liebherr intends to grant DEUTZ worldwide sales and service rights for 200- to 700-kW diesel engines for a variety of applications. These engines are being developed for the EU Stage V, US Tier 4, China IV and EU Stage IIIA emissions standards and thus meet the future statutory requirements regarding exhaust emissions. The engines manufactured by Liebherr will be available to DEUTZ for series delivery from 2019.

Eaton and Cummins expand SmartAdvantage powertrain portfolio with higher torque option

Eaton and Cummins Inc. announced at the 2016 American Trucking Associations (ATA) Management Conference & Exhibition the expansion of the SmartAdvantage powertrain portfolio to now include a new transmission model with 1,850 lb.-ft. torque capacity. This new transmission model is offered for linehaul applications in the United States and Canada operating with GCVW ratings of up to 80,000 pounds.

John Deere to highlight integrated electric solutions at MINExpo International

John Deere will showcase its experience developing and integrating electric powertrain solutions for off-highway applications at MINExpo International, Sept. 26 – 28 in Las Vegas. Liebherr to debut 100-tonne truck at MINExpo

Mattracks introduces 400M1A1 track conversion system for commercial vehicles requiring off-road mobility

Mattracks has expanded its track offerings for automotive/truck applications with the release of its 400M1A1 model. This expands the Mattracks automotive lineup by doubling the load capacity of the 200 series, which was the largest truck system prior to the 400 series release. The 400 series is ideal for use on commercial vehicles weighing up to 40,000 pounds that require off-road mobility. Designed for heavy loads and smooth rides, the 400M1A1 track conversion system features a 20-inch-wide front track and a 30-inch-wide rear track. The 400 series is a hub mounted design in order to facilitate a fast conversion from tires to tracks with little to no vehicle modification. John Deere expands power range for 4.5L DOC/SCR

John Deere Power Systems has announced the latest addition to its lineup of Tier 4 Final industrial engines, the PowerTech PSL 4.5L engine. Engineered by John Deere to meet the needs of OEM customers, the PowerTech PSL 4.5L with variable speed ratings is equipped with an Integrated Emissions Control system consisting of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.

Hatz Diesel presents an industrial four-cylinder with sound insulation

Hatz has released a four-cylinder diesel engine from its H-series with the newly developed Silent Pack. The state of the art Hatz 4H50TIC diesel unit performs up to 55 kilowatts at a maximum torque of 240 newton meters and complies with all current norms and requirements, such as EU Stage IIIB or US EPA Tier 4 final. In connection with the insulation, specially developed for this engine, the Hatz 4H50TIC Silent Pack reaches a reduction of the noise emission by 4 decibel despite the cooler fan. Therefore the engine is 60 per cent less noisy compared to the non-capsulated Open Power Unit (OPU).

Cummins introduces next-generation X family of engines

Eaton promotion extends manual transmission, clutch warranties for 12 months

Power management company Eaton has increased the warranty coverage for two of the company’s most popular heavy-duty manual transmissions. New truck customers who specify either an Eaton RTLO 13-speed or 18-speed transmission, a Solo Advantage clutch and Eaton-approved lubrication will now receive a 7-year/750,000-mile warranty on the transmission and 5-year/500,000-mile warranty on the clutch.

Volvo Penta collaborates with Sandvik to supply engines for underground mining trucks

Volvo Penta has collaborated with Sandvik Mining & Construction to develop an engine which is suitable for heavy-duty mining applications. The TAD1643VE-B, which was launched last month at Bauma, has now been unveiled as the new engine for the latest underground mining truck by Sandvik. The companies worked together after Sandvik turned to Volvo Penta for help in replacing existing 19-litre engines in its TH663 trucks.
