Allison begins production of transmissions for medium-duty Silverados

DEUTZ sells stake in Chinese joint venture

DEUTZ AG announced on 3 July 2018 that it intends to fully withdraw from the DEUTZ Dalian joint venture with First Automotive Works (FAW) in China. DEUTZ AG has now sold its 50 per cent stake in the company to the joint venture partner FAW following approval from the Supervisory Board and agreement on the necessary contracts. The parties have agreed not to disclose any commercial details. The transaction is subject to approval by the Chinese authorities.

Strong six months leads to Deutz raising profit forecast

Based on a successful first six months of the year and the continuing strength of market demand in 2018, the Board of Management of Deutz has decided to provide a more specific revenue forecast and to raise the profit estimate. This comes in the wake of an announcement of arbitration leading to the suspension of the strike at the important supplier Neue Halberg-Guss GmbH. This development is expected to stabilise the situation in the supply chain within a very short period of time.

TE high-power connectors designed for harsh environments in mining, construction, trucking applications

TE Connectivity (TE) has introduced its high-power AMP MCP 9.5 two position connectors designed for harsh environment wire-to-wire and wire-to-circuit board connections. AMP MCP 9.5 two position connectors are designed to withstand the extreme conditions of the trucking, agricultural, mining, construction and marine industries. The connectors utilize TE's field-proven AMP MCP 9.5 contacts and have a current rating of 78 amps for 10 millimeter² wire.

Detroit marks 80 years and one millionth HDEP engine platform production

As Detroit observes its 80th anniversary this year, parent company Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is marking another important achievement - the production of its one millionth heavy-duty engine platform (HDEP) engine. The one millionth HDEP engine is a shared milestone between Detroit's Redford, Mich.-based manufacturing facility and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim, Germany.

Mack introduces new fuel-efficient engine package for Anthem trucks

To help customers realize maximum fuel efficiency, Mack Trucks has introduced the Mack MP8HE 13-litre engine and the Mack HE+ package for Mack Anthem models. Pipe available in multiple dimensions with guaranteed wear

Hardox Wearparts announces the launch of Duroxite 100 Pipe to add to its Duroxite overlay product line. The finished pipes have the same high wear resistance as Duroxite plate products. Consistent wear properties are guaranteed throughout the pipe down to 75% of the overlay thickness as opposed to just the surface of the overlay. The remaining 25% of overlay is the transition layer necessary to maintain good bonding to the base plate. Peterbilt introduces new PACCAR vocational axle

Peterbilt has added the new PACCAR 20,000- and 22,000-lb. wide track steer axles to its vocational lineup. The PACCAR steer axle is available with standard front air disc brakes or optional drum brakes as well as suspensions and wheel end options to meet the most demanding jobs. Both axle ratings will be available in the Models 567, 520, 389, 367, 365, 348 and the 389 glider kit.

Eaton and Cummins Inc. Announce Joint Venture for Automated Transmissions for Heavy- and Medium-Duty Commercial Vehicles

Power management company Eaton and global power leader Cummins Inc. have announced an agreement to form a joint venture for automated transmissions for heavy-duty and medium-duty commercial vehicles. The joint venture will be named Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies.

Volvo Penta reveals its Stage V concept

Volvo Penta is revealing its Stage V concept at CONEXPO/CON-AGG in Las Vegas from March 7-11. As with previous emission steps, the Stage V line-up includes all five engines – D5, D8, D11, D13, and D16 – offering the same power range from 105 to 565 kW (143-770 hp) as Volvo Penta’s existing offer for industrial, off-road applications. A D11 engine and its perfectly matched exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) are on display to demonstrate the company’s Stage V platform. 

John Deere introduces inline aftertreatment solution

John Deere Power Systems debuted its newest Integrated Emissions Control system configuration at the 2017 CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show in Las Vegas. Configured with an inline aftertreatment device, the system is designed to offer greater packaging and integration flexibility to both internal John Deere and OEM customer applications.

Kubota unveiling its first-ever diesel engine above 100HP, ready for Stage V regulations

MAN Engines increases its commitment to the Americas at IPFE
