Vermeer now offers its BC1500 brush chipper with a gas engine. The new model is equipped with a powerful 165-hp (123-kW) PSI gas engine and delivers comparable chipping productivity to its diesel counterpart. Using a precision-balanced drum with two A8 double-sided knives, the new Vermeer BC1500 gas brush chipper is capable of chipping logs up to 15 inches (38.1 cm) in diameter.

The Bomag BPR 70/70 D reversible plate compactor boasts a specially designed comfort handle that reduces vibration feedback to the operator's hands, reducing fatigue. Rubber vibration buffers connecting the steering rod to both the handle and the base plate drop hand-arm-vibration values to 8.2 ft/s2 (2.5 m/s2), offering enhanced operator protection while using the compactor. This exclusive comfort handle design is now available on all Bomag medium and large reversible plate models, ranging from the BPR 45/55 D to the BPR 70/70 D.

Vanguard adds EFI with e-governing to small block line

Vanguard expands its lineup of electronic fuel injection offerings to include a horizontal-shaft Small Block V-Twin engine. The Small Block engine features an open-loop EFI system with electronic governing engineered for the demands of the commercial construction and rental markets. With the addition of this engine, Vanguard EFI is now available on four engine platforms across nine horsepower ratings varying in output from 23 to 37 gross horsepower.

Genie telescopic boom generates electrified performance for Ottawa River powerline replacement

The Chenaux Generating Station located on the Ottawa River in Ontario uses the river's current to generate 144 MW of clean, renewable electricity, enough to power nearly 150,000 homes on the grid. Like other hydro-electric power structures, its eight units were built in the mid-twentieth century as a stimulus project to help the country shake off the effects of the Great Depression. 

GPS capability on Bosch breaker hammers gives site managers real-time location tracking

Time and money are two of the most important commodities around and ensuring optimum use of these resources means key assets must be available when needed. For many jobsites that require concrete demolition work, a breaker, demolition or rotary hammer needs to be on hand. Atlas Copco PAS pumps make first appearance at The Rental Show

Three high-flow pumps from Atlas Copco Power Technique North America are on display at The Rental Show for the first time. The PAS open frame pump systems consist of a highly efficient diaphragm pump with a semi-open impeller and a large separator, allowing the pumps to pass true 3-inch spherical solids. Air is separated from the liquid and sucked by the vacuum pump, making automatic and efficient priming possible. Both wet prime and dry prime options are offered.

Bosch GLL3-330CG, GLL3-330C and GLL3-300 Three-Plane Leveling and Alignment Line Lasers deliver accuracy, long range and convenient all-in-one job layout to meet a variety of levelling and alignment tasks on the jobsite. The self-levelling lasers provide one 360-degree horizontal plane and two 360-degree vertical planes with references that cover the floor, wall and ceiling to serve all levelling needs. Cat introduces first inverter generator: the INV2000

Caterpillar is expanding its Home and Outdoor Power product line with the introduction of a portable inverter generator. Inverter technology is a first in Caterpillar's long history of power generation. Caterpillar engineers designed the Cat INV2000 with consumer usability features, like an easy start switch, along with professional performance and safety features (OSHA compliant GFCI), making it a versatile generator for both contractor and recreation use. Caterpillar will also offer a parallel kit, enabling users to connect two INV2000 units together, to double power output.

Cat to offer UTVs starting in 2018

Caterpillar announces plans to enter the utility vehicle market. The company has entered into a manufacturing and supply agreement with Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. and will offer UTV models sold through participating Cat dealerships starting in 2018.
