Wika Mobile Control installs qSCALE I2 LMI on Xtreme telehandler

Alden Equipment was recently awarded a government contract to deliver 60 Xtreme XR5919 telehandlers. Alden Equipment partnered with Wika Mobile Control (WMC) to install a qSCALE I2 load moment indicator (LMI) on each of the telehandlers. This system provides the operator with a display of the current load and geometric information, including the actual and allowable load, boom length, boom angle and load radius.

Tractor-mounted version of National Crane NBT30H-2 released

National Crane has developed a tractor-mounted version of its popular NBT30H-2, the NBT30H-2 TM. The 30 USt machine was created as a response to the company's Voice of the Customer feedback program, an integral part of The Manitowoc Way. It went from concept to production in just eight months and was designed by a cross-functional team of experts from Manitowoc's Lift Solutions team and National Crane's Truck Modification Center, as well as the company's engineering team. The primary application for this machine will be oil field applications, but it will also be viable for everyday taxi crane service.

Petrochemical industry needs drive purchase of Tadano RT cranes

Maxim Crane Works has purchased fifteen large capacity Tadano rough terrain cranes comprising a mix of GR-1000XLs, GR-1200XLs, and GR-1600XLs. The Tadano dealer, with an existing fleet of over 2,500 cranes, decided to expand their fleet largely to meet the needs of the petrochemical industry. "Tadano's longer boom length, capacity, and reliability have historically corresponded to our customer needs," remarked Frank Bardonaro, Chief Operating Officer, Maxim Crane Works. "We don't make these decisions somewhere in a corporate office. Instead, we talk to our team in the field and they know the machines that will be best suited to do the job."

DEUTZ and Manitou partner on electrification of telehandlers

Manitou has fitted two MT 1135 telehandlers with engines from the E-DEUTZ program, one a hybrid and the other fully electric.

DEUTZ AG and Manitou Group are embarking together on the electrification of drive lines - DEUTZ has incorporated prototype electric drives into Manitou equipment for the first time. The keys for the first prototypes will be handed over as part of the ELECTRIP Event Week in Cologne. Manitou Group, the first E-DEUTZ partner, has fitted one of its telehandlers with a hybrid drive and a second with a full-electric drive.

New luffing jib tower crane from Terex adds jib length

Signifying the importance of the luffing jib tower crane design to the Terex equipment offering, Terex Cranes introduces the new Terex CTL 272-18 luffing jib tower crane that boasts a 10% increase in jib length over the previous class model. The new Terex model features a 61 m (200 ft) maximum jib length, 270 ton-metre load moment and maximum full-length load of 2.6 tonnes (2.9 U.S. tons). The crane's unique Terex Power Plus feature can temporarily increase the maximum load moment under specific and controlled conditions (e.g. reduced dynamics) by 10%, giving the operator extra lifting capacity.

COMANSA has introduced a new model designed to work in projects in which it is necessary to lift heavy loads. The new Gehl DL Gen:3 Series models feature a single joystick control for boom extension and retraction, attachment tilt, auxiliary hydraulics and forward/neutral/reverse. The all-in-one joystick allows the operator to control all machine functions with one hand while leaving the other hand on the steering wheel.
