The Vermeer Job Ready program provides a new solution for the pre-owned equipment market. Designed to give contractors peace of mind that used equipment will be productive long after it’s sold, the Job Ready program combines the support of the Vermeer dealer network; detailed, up-front inspections; and a robust service contract that covers major component failure for up to six months or 750 operating hours after purchase.
Job Ready coverage is currently available on select models of Vermeer Navigator horizontal directional drills (HDDs). All Job Ready HDD machines fall within a 7 model year age range and have less than 5,000 hours of usage. HDD units with more than 3,000 hours will also undergo engine and hydraulic oil sampling to confirm the systems are within acceptable tolerances for wear.
“There are lots of places to buy used equipment, but few can offer the knowledge, experience and reputation of the Vermeer dealer network,” said Bob Martin, lifecycle solutions manager at Vermeer. “Customers know that their machine is backed by a comprehensive service contract that covers parts and labour for most of the major machine components for up to six months with no deductible.”
Coverage varies by product line, but in the case of an HDD, major components of the engine, fuel system, exhaust system, cooling system, select electrical components and hydraulics are included in the Job Ready program.
“This isn’t about a full bumper-to-bumper warranty,” said Martin. “It’s about making sure that the failure of a significant item during the contract period won’t add financial stress to the equipment owner and it’s about providing reassurance that they can bring their machine to any Vermeer dealer for a covered repair.”
