LIGHT COMPACT & RENTAL EQUIPMENT TO GET THE JOB DONE

For working on sites that need a high lift boom, such as this gravel unloading facility and cement plant in Seattle, Washington, Genie’s new SX-150 telescopic boom lift is an excellent choice.

“We consider this boom lift to be a ‘versatile workhorse’ that is tremendously durable for challenging environments,” said Karen Stash, senior director, global product management and marketing, Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP). “It’s a cost effective choice to reach challenging jobsite applications.”

Genie’s new “versatile workhorse” provides full capacity in complete working envelope

Genie continues to round out its Super Boom product family with this new Genie SX-150 telescopic boom lift, a fit for numerous applications including construction and maintenance. “We are continuing to answer unmet customer needs by adding value to our Super Boom product line with the new SX-150,” added Stash.

Rental versatility

The SX-150 boom lift reaches its full platform height of 151 feet in under three minutes. The boom offers four programmable height settings of 150 feet, 135 feet, 120 feet and 100 feet for rental versatility, and a 10-foot horizontal and vertical rotating jib allows for quick local repositioning of the platform. With a horizontal outreach of 80 feet, this boom also offers 70 feet of outreach at 120 feet of platform with a lift capacity of 750 pounds for a maximum of two people. A standard 7.5 kW on-board generator powers tools, including welders. Weighing 50,700 pounds, with a tail swing of three feet six inches and ground clearance of 15 inches, the boom lift is transportable on a standard trailer; no over-size permits are required.

RANGE OF MOTION

The boom uses an identical, field-proven chassis design to the SX-180 and ZX-135 boom lifts.

“This product was designed with the service tech in mind,” said Adam Hailey, booms product manager, Terex AWP.

External sensors and manifolds are protected under steel covers which are easily removed, providing excellent service access.

All manifolds offer easy wrench access while a swing-out engine tray provides easy service for maintenance access.

The SX-150 contains hydraulic hard lines wherever possible to increase durability, while a four-stage filtration system ensures cleanliness of the hydraulic fluid. It features easy to reach hydraulic filters, with a drop-in, in-tank filter for easy cleaning and replacement, as well as bulk-headed hydraulic lines so hoses can be removed and replaced in one piece.

A boom extend system features a cylinder and wire rope cartridge for fast service or replacement.

The rotating jib’s worm drive reduces backlash while increasing reliability and offers 60 degrees of horizontal motion for increased working area.

The SX-150 uses a Deutz Tier 4 Final diesel engine, without the need for regen or DPF.
