Terex AWP Introduces New AL5 Vertical Mast Light Tower

Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of Terex Corporation, has introduced the new Terex AL5 light tower with optional vertical mast. With its field-proven AL5 light tower chassis and simpler, faster mast deployment, the new vertical mast light tower provides accurate positioning and durable performance for a safer alternative on the jobsite.

Providing 350 degree rotation, the new light tower offers ease of access. Users can rotate the mast’s four quick disconnect lights in either the raised or the stowed position. With its easy to position lights, the electric winch raises the mast providing ergonomic benefits. An electric rather than hydraulic design means there is no worry about spill containment. With one switch next to the control panel, the winch lifts and lowers the lights in 30 seconds.

“Customers requested a Terex light tower with a vertical mast for accuracy and efficiency,” said Marie Engstrom, Associate Product Manager, Light Towers. “This durable design is inherently easier to set up, take down and make adjustments while in use.”

The traditional AL5 light tower with laydown mast is still available and offers a standard heavy-duty galvanized 30 ft (9.1m) mast. Both configurations offer galvanized outriggers, control box and ballasts amounting to less rust and corrosion in harsh environments. A heavy tubular steel chassis and a 3,500 lb (1,558kg) axle are ideal for towing on rough roads. Internal cabinet storage helps to protect lights during transportation and a proven Kubota engine with an 8.0 kW power configuration means consistent, reliable performance and less downtime.

The Terex AL5 light tower may be customized with the following options: an Isuzu turbo diesel engine (33hp), 30 and 60 gallon spill containment, and cold weather configurations.
