Geo-Boy Brush Cutter earns ROPS and FOPS certifications

The Geo-Boy Brush Cutter 4x4 model from Jarraff Industries recently received ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structures) and FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structures) certification.  The certification announcement comes after a lengthy testing and evaluation process.

Jarraff President and CEO Heidi Boyum explains that the certifications are significant for existing Geo-Boy owners, as well as prospective customers.  She said, “The ROPS and FOPS certifications can be applied retroactively for Geo-Boy Brush Cutters produced since 2004.  Our goal is to provide the safest, most effective brush cutter on the market, now owners and operators can be assured that they are utilizing one of the safest self-contained brush cutters available today.”

Available in both wheeled and track configurations, the Geo-Boy also offers a number of safety features including, full Lexan, No Mar windows and a rear view camera. The Geo-Boy has the ability to lift the cutter head approximately 11 feet high and can quickly and effectively clear brush and trees up to 12 inches in diameter.  With two tier III engine options, 220 hp and 260 hp, the Geo-Boy is more powerful, maneuverable and fuel efficient than other brush cutters in its class.  The track model Geo-boy has been ROPS and FOPS certified since 2004.

Roadtec Brings Back Innovative Design for SP-100e Stealth Paver

Roadtec has brought back an innovative paver design with various updates. The SP-100e Stealth Paver is a simply-designed, low-maintenance gravity-fed paver built specifically for operating with the Roadtec Shuttle Buggy material transfer vehicle.

Gravity feeds the material directly to the auger from the mass flow hopper, replacing the need for slat conveyors, hopper wings, push rollers and tandem front boggies, thereby significantly reducing maintenance costs and initial purchase price. It also requires less engine power compared to a traditional conveyor system, which increases the machine’s fuel economy. The gravity-fed hopper is also used on Roadtec’s SP- 200e spray paver.

Focus On Fundamentals Crucial For Contractor

Mainline production-paving contractors receive much of the industry’s attention, yet there is obviously a need for small- and mid-sized contractors too. They improve the local roads and provide niche services the larger contractors don’t.

The smaller contractors, of course, have the same demands regarding quality. This requires adherence to fundamentals and using state-of-the-art equipment that enables delivery of a high-quality product.

Rockster Recycler Interchangeable Impact/Jaw Crusher Plant

Rockster Recycler North America introduces its mobile, patented Duplex System, a track-mounted crushing plant that allows the contractor to interchange an impact crusher with a jaw crusher, and vice-versa, on the same chassis. This unique capability creates a dual-purpose machine for a wider range of recycling, demolition and aggregate crushing applications. Available in the R1100/1200 impact/jaw models and the R900/800 impact/jaw models, the Duplex System allows one crusher unit to exchange with the other crusher unit in approximately four to five hours using an excavator. An overnight exchange of crusher units on the plant by a maintenance crew means the plant can be on the jobsite and ready to crush by morning. The R1100/1200 processes 280 to 350 tons per hour; the R900/800 processes 120 to 240 tph.

Rockster Recycler’s horizontal shaft impact crushers feature two hydraulically adjustable swing-beams, as well as on-the-fly rotor speed adjustment for accurate material sizing and fines control. A massive rotor with four-bar hammer can be positioned in either two-high and two-low or four-high configuration. The hydraulically adjustable jaw crushers feature oversize bearings and shafts, and are reversible to easily remove uncrushables.

Redesigned Brokk 400, Electric-Powered, Remote-Controlled Demolition Machine

Brokk has upgraded its electric Brokk 400 remote-controlled demolition machine to include a larger undercarriage for heavy tracking applications, such as tunnelling and mining, and for enhanced stability when operating with heavier attachments like metal shears and scabblers. Brokk also has improved the hydraulic system; it now provides more efficient fluid flow when the machine is operating a drill attachment so there is more consistent power. With its new upgrades the Brokk 400 also delivers exceptional performance on a variety of construction, demolition and specialty applications.

The new 400 model machine features a bigger drive axis, rollers and sidetracks. It also has a larger undercarriage with new tracks that are 10 percent longer than its predecessor. This improves wear life for machines used in applications that require a lot of tracking and provides up to 60 percent greater stability when operating with heavier attachments. In addition, the machine’s outriggers provide a wide base that evenly distributes weight and provides even more stability. Its high chassis setup and heavy-duty rubber tracks make it easy to maneuver over rubble piles and obstacles.
